Meet the Executive Director

Sally C. Cowan is the Executive Director of Cenla Community Action Committee, Inc. (Cenla CAC), an  Agency whose goal is to assist low-wealth individuals to prevent homelessness and other effects of poverty through improved employment, education, and housing opportunities whereby equipping these individuals with tools necessary to become economically stable. Prior to her appointment, she served as an Assistant for Administration for CCAC.  

 

Before joining CCAC she served as Administrative Assistant to the Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Louisiana State University at Alexandria. She was responsible for credentialing all faculty, managing the Office of Academic Affairs, and assisting in graduation. She has over 35 years of professional work experience that includes serving as an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Transportation & Development, a Social Service Analyst for the Department of Family and Children Services, a Criminal and Civil Background researcher, and an Administrative Assistant for Central Louisiana State Hospital.  Her other positions have included teaching, producing for a local radio broadcast, and being an entrepreneur.  Ms. Cowan is also a minister at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Boyce, LA, and serves as Chair of the Personnel Committee.


Ms. Cowan holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, LA, and graduated Suma Cum Laude and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA.
